What is secret behind Shani and it sade sati story

There was once a time when all the planets decided to have a meet together to see who was the most powerful among them and who commands the most respect. As expected, there was nothing fruitful that came out of the meeting and therefore every planet placed its argument that was rejected by a majority of others resulting in no final answer. This was when the planets together decided to go to Lord Indra who was the wisest of all Devatas in connection with the problem. Since Indra did not want to be a part of any Graha’s anger, he cleverly diverted the matter in hand to King Vikramaditya on Earth who was known for his justice and valor. The just King who was living in Ujjainee had a really big dispute to settle in hand.

King Vikramaditya had his court packed with courtiers and people when the Graha’s arrived. On seeing all the Graham come to his court, the King was initially surprised but quickly made sure that they were respected. As a gesture of respect, he offered his seat to the Graham and none of them accepted it. Instead they said that there was a matter to be settled and wanted Vikramaditya to give a just decision to the problem in hand. The King recognized the importance of the issue and ordered his courtiers to bring new aasans to the all the Graham. This was soon brought and the throne which was closest to the King’s was instantly grabbed by Brihaspati who ran and took it. The next seat was taken by Surya, followed by Chandrama, Budh, Mangal, Raahu, and Ketu. The position of Bhaargav (Venus) was eight and there was just one throne left which was close to the doo. King Vikramaditya had decided to declare whosoever that takes the last seat as the winner. This was because the person who takes the last seat should be the one who is humble and hence would command the most respect.

However, as kismat would have it, Shani dev did not sit on the last throne and was hence left with no aasan. This was when all other Grahas started making fun of Shani and began to laugh. The angriest God then burst out in anger. He told King Vikramaditya that he had insulted Shani in front of all wise men in the country. He also told that the Moon stays in a raashi for only two and a half days; Surya, Budh and Shukra stay only for 15 days; Mangal stays for 2 months; Guru stays for 13 months and Raahu and Ketu stays there for 18 months. However, Shani stays in a person’s raashi for seven and a half years. After telling this to the King, Shani Dev told that Vikramaditya would face the wrath of Shani since he did not respect him. This continues till date in different Rashifals and also predictions according to Astrology.
